Do you have a project that could make a positive difference in your local community?

The Stronger Communities Programme Round 10 provides funding for projects that bring people together, improve local facilities, support community participation, and create lasting social benefits. From upgrading community halls and sporting facilities to improving accessibility, supporting local environmental projects, enhancing public spaces, or purchasing equipment for community groups, this programme helps turn great community ideas into reality. 

The Australian Government has allocated up to $150,000 to the O'Connor electorate, with up to 20 projects expected to receive funding. Eligible organisations can apply for grants ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 to support projects that strengthen and benefit local communities. The maximum project value is $50,000. 

An expression of interest may be from a wide range of community organisations across the electorate, including incorporated not-for-profit organisations, Indigenous organisations, eligible emergency services organisations, and other eligible community groups with an ABN. Community groups that are not incorporated may also be able to apply through an eligible sponsoring organisation. 

Projects must be located within the O'Connor electorate and align with one or more programme objectives. Eligible projects may support community wellbeing, tourism, veterans, First Nations communities, environmental sustainability, climate resilience, accessibility improvements, digital connectivity, community facilities, sporting infrastructure, children's services, or initiatives that help communities become more vibrant, inclusive and connected. 

The application process will begin with an Expression of Interest (EOI). All EOIs will be reviewed by Rick Wilson MP and the O'Connor Community Consultation Committee, and selected projects that meet the objectives and eligibility requirements of the programme may then be nominated to the Australian Government for consideration. Successful nominees will be invited to submit a full grant application through the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. Submitting an EOI or being nominated does not guarantee funding, as all applications are subject to a separate assessment process.
